welcome to my travel blog
My name is Sophia, it`s great to see you here. 🙂
The Always Wanderer is created for travel and nature enthusiasts who are frustrated by crowded tourist places.
Traveling off the beaten path and finding hidden gems has been my main interest for over a decade. I am a true believer that travelling is the best thing one can do to learn about our world and gain new perspectives.
With this travel blog, my aim is to do something different. To inspire you to visit places off the usual tourist path, and to make you fall in love with being outdoors.

I spend my time traveling between Asia and Europe. In Europe, I sometimes completely move into a van and enjoy van life with my Labrador—mostly in the mountains, hiking through the best hikes in Bavaria or Italy.
I’m based in Munich, Germany, which is a great hub for European getaways. I also love Munich itself—there’s so much to do and see here. Check out my 5 Days in Munich Itinerary to get an idea of what to explore around the area.
When I’m not in Munich, I’m usually somewhere in Asia. I’m drawn to places where nature is thriving—especially the less visited, wilder corners. I had an incredible time in Sri Lanka, where I saw an amazing abundance of wildlife. One of my favorite adventures was renting a tuk tuk in Sri Lanka. It gave me the freedom to discover hidden gems and remote places that most tourists miss.
I’m also a huge beach lover and never get tired of exploring stunning coastlines. I recently found out that Thailand is home to the world’s best beach—Koh Kradan Beach.
Thailand keeps calling me back. Each time, I search for hidden gems and alternative things to do in well-known spots—like discovering unique things to do on Railay Beach.
